A good dictation equipment comes with the following:

- able to pick up sounds clearly and at a distance
- extended battery life for immeditate and prolong use
- large memory space to hold all that data in sound recordings
- intelligent file management i.e work well with transferring files to and from computers

You can find all these in a Sony digital dictation equipment.  These typically come in  good package that covers the important details that I have describied above. Sony mahacines have good technology in terms of recording and translating the spoken words into a digital file for you to work with. Some of the latest model contains the Dragon natural speaking programme which ins one of the better translation software in the market.

In terms of navigation, Sony dictation mahcines are well laid out, with details on how your fingers move about. They are espeically careful to make their machine into single hand controls. This reflects an understanding that most of the time, the user might have only one hand available to control the device. Screen wise, the information show in clear and the the screen size is large enough to see the information clearly.

Most of these Sony devices comes with a good battery life and last you about 150-250 playback time, depending on the model used. They are also generous in terms of the memory space. Most comes with 32 flash memory and the MX32 comes with a slot that allows you to stick your usb thumb drive for additional memory if you need more.

Overall, the equipment is solid and is worth the higher prices they command relative to the rest of the brands in the market. But that is a Sony for you : )
